A guest : Congratulations! बधाई हो ।
Mr. Mehta : Thank you and welcome.
मि. मेहता धन्यवाद, आइये स्वागत है
Another guest : Where are the newly weds? (नये दूल्हा-दुल्हन कहां है?)
Mrs. Mehta : There in the hall. (अंदर हॉल में।)
A lady : Congratulations Rohit. Your bride is really lovely (बधाई हो रोहित, तुम्हारी दुल्हन तो वाकई बहुत प्यारी है।)
Rohit : Thank you auntie. (थैंक्यू आंटी।)
(मेहमान आपस में बात करते हैं।)
Mr. Mehra: Hello, Mr. Sharma. How are you? हलो मि. शर्मा कैसे हैं?
Mr. Sharma : Fine thank you Mr. Mehra, and you? मैं ठीक हूं। थैंक्यू मि. मेहरा आप कैसे हैं?
Mr. Mehra : Fine. Where is Mrs. Sharma? ठीक हूँ। मिसित शर्मा कहां हैं?
Mr. Sharma : She isn’t in town. She has gone to Chandigarh to attend her sister’s wedding. Even I am leaving tonight. वे यहां नहीं हैं। चंडीगढ़ अपनी बहन की शादी में गई हैं। मैं भी आज रात को जा रहा हूँ।
Mr. Mehra : Oh I see. Yes, this is the marriage season. अच्छा अच्छा। हां, इन दिनों काफी शादियां हो रही हैं।
Meena : Hello Deepa. Long time no see. हलो दीपा बहुत दिनों से नहीं दिखाई दी।
Deepa: Long time really. How are you? वाकई बहुत दिन हो गए। कैसी हो?
Meenaक्ष: Fine. Where are Sameer and children? ठीक हूँ। समीर और बच्चे कहां है?
Deepa : Sameer is around but the children are having their exams. So they are at home. समीर वहीं हैं पर बच्चों की परीक्षाएं हैं। इसलिए वे घर पर हैं।
Meena : Oh I see! When will the exams be over? ओह अच्छा! परीक्षाएं कब खत्म होंगी?
Deepa : On the twenty first. How is your son Sumit? Has the adjusted in the hostel? इक्कीस तारीख को, तुम्हारा बेटा सुमित कैसा है? हॉस्टल में मन लग गया उसका ?
Meena: Yes he has adjusted very well. But he feels a little homesick at times. I too miss him very much. हां बहुत अच्छी तरह से पर कभी-कभी घर को याद करता है। मुझे भी उसकी बहुत याद आती है।

Waiter : Yes madam, I’ll get soup for you. जी मैडम, मैं आपके लिए सूप लाता हूं।
Mr. Rai : So Sahni, how is business? और साहनी बिज़नेस कैसा चल रहा है?
Mr. Sahni : Well so-so. साहनी बस ठीक-ठीक।
Mr. Rai : There is a cut throat competition in the market. बाजार में बड़ा सख्त कॉम्पटीशन है।
Mr. Rai : Yes, many new products have been launched. But quality still sells. हां, कई नई-नई चीजें आ गई हैं। पर अच्छी क्वॉलिटी की चीज़ अभी भी बिकती है।
Mr. Rai : Yes, ofcourse. जी हां, बेशक।
Mr. Sharma : What does Mr. Mchta’s son do? मि. मेहता का बेटा क्या करता है।
Mr. Rai : He is a Chartered Accountant. चार्टर्ड अकाउंटेंट है।
Mr. Sharma : Where does he work ? काम कहां करता है?
Mr. Rai : In Naval Industries, I think. मेरे ख्याल से नवल इंडस्ट्रीज में।
Mr. Sharma : I see. The boy is really bright. अच्छा! लड़का वाकई होशियार है।

Mr. Khanna : The food is very nice, Specially the nonveg. is superb. I wonder who are the caterers? खाना बहुत अच्छा है। खास तौर पर नॉनवेज तो कमाल का है। जाने केटरर्ज कौन से है?
Mr. Rai : I will ask Mr. Mehta. I would like to engage the same caterers for my daughter’s wedding. मैं मि. मेहता से पूछूंगा। मैं अपनी बेटी की शादी में इन्हीं केटरर्ज को बुलाऊंगा।
Mrs. Mehra : When is the marriage? शादी कब है?
Mr. Rai : On the 25th of March. पच्चीस मार्च की।
Mr. Mehra : There is still enough time. अभी तो काफी समय है।
Mr. Rai : Yes, but these people are booked heavily in advance, हां है तो। पर ये लोग काफ़ी पहले से बुक हो जाते हैं।
